Forest Hill Pools

Forest Hill Pools is a small local leisure centre in Forest Hill, London. It contains two Victorian swimming baths and is located on the same road as Forest Hill railway station, and is located next to Sydenham School and Forest Hill Library.

Timeline

May 2009 Lewisham Council ran a public consultation from 27 April 2009 to 29 May 2009 to help determine where and when the new centre will be built. The consultation report will be discussed at a Mayor and Cabinet meeting on 15 July 2009, when a decision will be made on where and when the new pool will be built.

February 2009 The Mayor of Lewisham, Sir Steve Bullock, will decide the next stage in the development of Forest Hill Pools at a meeting of the Mayor and Cabinet on 25 February 2009.

February 2008 Recommendations to demolish Forest Hill Pools and replace the building with a new leisure facility have been accepted by the Mayor of Lewisham, Sir Steve Bullock.

March 2006 Forest Hill Pools have been closed pending their redevelopment following health and safety advice. Detailed investigations of the building will now be undertaken to establish the extent of the problems with the roof.

Forest Hill Pools are located on Dartmouth Road, London. This is in the centre of the town. There is a bus stop outside for buses 122, 24-Hour Route 176 and 197. The nearest train station is Forest Hill railway station which has frequent trains to Central London and Croydon.
